We could all use a little easygoing Christmas cheer at this point in the holiday season.  I came across a few Christmas quotes that I really enjoy.  Here are a few of my favorites that I consider meaningful and light-hearted.

“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”― Charles M. Schulz

“One can never have enough socks,” said Dumbledore. “Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn’t get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books.”― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

“I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was 6. Mother took me to see him in a department store, and he asked for my autograph.” —Shirley Temple

“I once bought my kids a set of batteries for Christmas with a note on it saying ‘Toys not included.’” —Bernard Manning

“Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”― Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.”― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

“Santa Claus has the right idea. Visit people once a year.” —Victor Borge

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.”― Calvin Coolidge

“In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it ‘Christmas’ and went to church; the Jews called it ‘Hanukkah’ and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say ‘Merry Christmas!’ or ‘Happy Hanukkah!’ or (to the atheists) ‘Look out for the wall!”― Dave Barry
